Kundalini Yoga to release, revitalize, and reconnect to your Self.

Let’s use the breath, movement and mantra to handle burnout, overcome depression, and manage anxiety. Each class is an hour long kundalini yoga based experience. We will use kriya yoga, meditation, and mantra to open ourselves to our higher consciousness and deeper selves. Let’s come together to move, to breathe, and to be.

About Me:

I’m Joshua Ornelas, aka Josh. I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area and over the last decade, I have been teaching how to embody movement and how to align ourselves with our breath. I have spent time as a dance teacher, program director, and long-time yoga and meditation practitioner. After many years of self-practice, in 2019, I took the plunge into formal yoga teacher training. My hope was to better my personal practice and really understand what and why I was doing what I was doing. While in the training program I was able to confront past trauma, breath into spaces that held tension and anger for so long, and was given technology that I use daily to mitigate my own anxiety and depression.  Through this journey, I realized I couldn’t ignore the teacher calling and began the transition into teaching more kundalini yoga. It is through this journey of self-discovery and realization that Tiaga Yoga came to be. 

Tiaga is a Sanskrit word that means to release or to surrender or renounce. It’s through my practice that I surrender to the divine, I attempt to renounce what is no longer of service, I surrender to the journey, and I release into the flow. My hope is that this is a space of surrender, to surrender your sword and to surrender your shield and to just move, breathe, and be.

About the Yogi

I am a queer, kundalini yogi based out of San Francisco. My pronouns are he/him. I have am a 200 Hour CYT and 220 Hour CKYT. I offer classes that come with lots of heart-centered work, breath, movement, and of course meditation.
